Apocalypter's world is described as infinite and procedurally generated. The confirmed navigation tools are your compass, environmental landmarks and roads. Roads make navigation easier, but the developer explicitly warns that some lead nowhere. A fixed route copied from another run is therefore not a reliable general map.
The official exploration description identifies abandoned buildings, wrecks, caves, faction camps and bases. Use those as recognizable destination types, not promises that a particular direction always contains one.
Keep a useful travel record
| Note to keep | Example of what to record |
|---|---|
| Direction | The compass heading you followed from a location you can recognize. |
| Landmark | A visible feature that distinguishes the location from similar terrain. |
| Location type | Building, wreck, cave, camp or base. |
| Reason to return | Supplies, a merchant interaction or an unfinished exploration goal. |
| Version and world | Which run the observation belongs to. |
This is a personal navigation method, not an in-game waypoint feature. Keep notes outside the game if needed; the source does not establish that a specific waypoint interface exists in the current release.
Decide when to leave the road
Use a road when it helps maintain direction, but judge it alongside the compass and the terrain you can see. If a road stops giving useful information, return to your last clear landmark or choose a new visible target. Do not assume a dead end means the world is broken.
The procedural setting is also why this page does not offer universal coordinates for traders, warlords or every vehicle. It explains how to organize your search without pretending another player's layout is yours.
Link exploration to completion
Several Steam achievements ask you to discover entire categories: wrecks, caves, buildings, camps and vehicles. The achievement checklist helps separate those goals, but it does not provide a complete spawn list. A location category in the official description is not proof of how many variants exist.
Verified best-seed rankings and a complete interactive map are not available in this guide. For choosing what to bring, see the beginner guide; for what to do at a merchant, see trading.
